The St. Louis Cardinals are the latest MLB team with a COVID-19 outbreak and there are currently nine players and seven coaches that have tested positive for coronavirus.  They are being tested daily and the number of positive tests has been increasing daily.  The Marlins were the first MLB baseball team with a major outbreak causing a lot of game cancellations, and now the Cardinals are in the same situation.

The nine St. Louis Cardinals players that have tested positive have been confirmed by multiple media sources and are listed below:
  • Austin Dean OF
  • Paul DeJong SS
  • Ryan Helsley P
  • Junior Fernandez P
  • Carlos Martinez P
  • Yadier Molina C

The Cardinals' latest series vs. the Chicago Cubs has been postponed and we will see if any additional games are postponed due to more positive tests. There were rumors that St. Louis Cardinals players were at a casino before the outbreak, but up until now, that has not been confirmed.

The players above have been added to the MLB Baseball Positive List for COVID-19. Visit that link to see all MLB players that have tested positive to date.

UPDATE - Lane Thomas OF also tested positive and is the 10th St. Louis Cardinal to recently test positive for COVID-19. (Link)
