Golfer Dustin Johnson Positive for COVID-19

PGA golfer Dustin Johnson tested positive for COVID-19 this week and had to withdraw from The CJ Cup at Shadow Creek.  Dustin was experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and notified PGA Tour officials.  He was then administered a test which came back as positive for coronavirus.  J.T. Poston will take his place in the tournament field as he was the first alternative.

In a statement to ESPN, Dustin said, "Obviously, I am very disappointed. I was really looking forward to competing this week but will do everything I can to return as quickly as possible. I have already had a few calls with the tour's medical team and appreciate all the support and guidance they have given me."

Dustin should have plenty of time to recover for The Masters which is about a month away.  He is the highest profile golfer to test positive for coronavirus to date as he is currently ranked number 1 in the world.

Dustin Johnson has been added to the PGA Golfer Positive List for COVID-19 and he is the 11th PGA golfer to test positive. Visit that link to see all PGA golfers that have tested positive to date.
